Smash It Up is one of Toronto's best and most dynamic punk fanzines, which came out in the hardcore and new wave eras. The zine was produced by Nick Smash. This issue is #19 and it came out at the end of September 1981 which can be placed by the Dead Kennedys interview which happened on the 25th of September. That must have been the last thing written before going to print. There is a show review and interview is mostly with Jello Biafra (singer) and a little bit with Deron Peligro (drummer)....

Mute Elation was a punk fanzine from Toronto. This issue looks like it came out at the end of 1986 based on some of the gigs that they covered and when those happened in Toronto. This was not the first issue as content alludes to continuing of features and written pieces in previous issues. There is a significant amount nof content dedicated to writing in the form of poetry and fiction writing and even an interview with a writer. But there is also lots of punk and post punk content. This is the first issue of Conufuzed fanzine, which was a punk fanzine around in the late 80's in Toronto. The were from Cleveland and so I put on a show with them and the bands from Kent, Ohio called False Hope and Hyper as hell. Joel interviewed Youth Inc., which was a great name for a...

This is the second issue of Confuzed fanzine. This issue features Brian Baker on the cover, but there is no Dag Nasty interview inside. The cover is on a colour stock which was cool to see. One of my favourite things about a zine is covering their own local news and Joel did that with his issues. Even today it provides of snapshot of things happening at that time. This is a photozine compiled by Rita Laberto. When Photo Drome came out it reminded me of âWelcome to Cruise Countryâ which was a photo zine that MRR did at the time. The theme of âCruise Countryâ was to capture photos of the European bands. There was lots of attention on the North American bands, but MRR wanted to demonstrate the greatness of activity in other countries. Most photozines were limited to their local scene. That was what was easiest for photographers. Shoot pictures of local...

There is a straight edge, vegan, and animal rights focus to the zine. This is a PDF of the January 2015 issue of EXD fanzine. This issue features an interview with the School Jerks. The School Jerks are a hardcore band from Toronto with a strong early Black Flag influence in sound and art. The band has released a demo, three eps, a split tape, an LP and appeared on a few comps. This interview attempts to look back at the band with a focus on the LP as that is the band's most recent release. I find the band very inspiring.
